Set up was abiut 2.5 hours to start. Took over mowing duties with a 10000HX and have 14 zones and 55,000 sq feet under mow. Just completing 3rd mowing round during the soggy but fast growing spring in the Pacific northwest. Tall wet grass performance excellent. Noise profile fantastic. Manual mapping works best for us. Easy process. A little harsh on fragile turf when turning around, need to be careful, especially with overlapping zones. But a real game changer and wonderful addition. Takes about 32 hours to clear the entire package of zones over a couple days. We are night mowing. Worth every penny, even though expensive.
I received this mower a few weeks ago. I've had it mow multiple times so far. I absolutely love this robot. I had to think through my zones a bit and tweak it a few times but now it's set up perfectly. I did put an air tag in the top area to give me provide a little peace of mind since I have it parked outside in order to mow automatically every three days. My routine is now super easy with edging and blowing every two weeks - only about 20 minutes! That's it. It used to take me over an hour two times a week to mow. The random angle option is perfect as you can see from the photo. I have some uneven areas in my front yard but this machine handles it without any issues. I would highly recommend this lawn mower.
I bought the Luba 2 to mow a very steep hill in the back of my yard. The hill is too steep for a riding mower and can be somewhat dangerous to mow by hand. So far, the Luba 2 has handled the slope with ease and hasn’t gotten stuck once. I’ve used it to mow the yard about four times now and haven’t had any issues with its operation.
My only complaint so far is the cut quality—the quality is not always 100% perfect throughout the yard. To be fair I have not investigated what could be done, call Mammotion or read any posts about this. However, I am planning to reconfigure the task area in the front yard (where appearance matters more) to use a cross-cut pattern so the Luba 2 approaches the grass from different angles. There may be other adjustments beside using a cross cut that may would take of the issue.
Other than that, I’m completely satisfied with the product and the customer service. I have no regrets about the purchase. The Luba 2 will save me countless hours and, more importantly, eliminates the risk of injury from mowing that steep hill.
So far this little robot has done everything it promised to do. I love how does not erode your soil away by creating dust storms in patchy spots like my big 17hp zero turn mower. It’s super quiet, quiet enough I have zero qualms letting it run into the evening. The coders have really addressed the concerns of the users with each app update. I am using the RTK station and it has worked flawlessly to position the mower when I told it to when mapping. After witnessing 4 cuts so far I was impressed enough to get another for my mother-in-law. So far so good!! Nice job guys!! If I can get to 30 cuts without an issue then it will start to be less expensive than a lawn cutting service, crossing my fingers. I think it will make it! So far it has been very nice to not have to cut the lawn. Yesterday we had a fire in our fire pit and it was funny to see it glide by cutting all around us while we were sitting enjoying the fire.
I have a wrap around yard, with a 25 degree slope in back, and two no mow zones in the front. I have had the mower for two weeks and have mowed my yard four times. I am very pleased with the performance or this mower. I am able to do all the rest of my yard work (spraying weeds, trimming bushes, and edging grass) while the mower does it's thing. Truely a time saver.
No issues in set up and mapping my yard. Tip: map your mow zones in the order you want the mower to cut them. I would suggest the furtherest zone be the first and the zone that has the charging station in it be the last.
So far I love it. 4 for 4 on mowing 🤞
This thing is pretty darn good. Is it perfect? No. Is designing and building a device that navigates obstacles and mows my yard while I'm golfing a VERY difficult task? Heck YES! And this mower does exactly that. There is a bit of learning and tweaking at first, but I'm figuring it out and it gets better each time I adjust something.
After getting through the setup process things seem to be going good so far. Spring is just around the corner here so I can't put it to full use yet.
I did set up different areas to test functions and I am impressed with the mower's ability to move area to area and change up functions as needed. The more I learn the better I like the mower. The mower actually seems as though it was thinking out moves as it worked. So far so good.
I am a detail oriented person and have set my Luba 2 up and used it several times. It is fantastic. Everything works as it should and each part of the platform seems to mesh well together. The robot apparently stores much of the map info onboard because it works just fine when it is at the edges of our large lot. I hope that someday, it will be able to be housed in my garage. It has to be in the open now. It needs to see the sky. If I could park it in the garage, and if it would open and close my garage door as needed, that would be a fantastic addition.
Once we got the maps and paths laid out logically it has been doing a good job. The object avoidance does not work very well. With object avoidance set to standard, it drove itself into the back of our John Deere Gator and kept pushing until I stopped it. The bumper was under the vehicle, but the camera had full view of the back of the vehicle in the middle of the slow moving vehicle sign. The triangular reflective slow moving vehicle sign extended below the camera but not down to the bumper. Also, if you do not define obstacles like posts or trees as exclusion zones, it will get
logically stuck even though it is not physically stuck. To get it mowing again you need to end the task and then manually drive it before it will run again. Despite these problems, we have decided to keep it. It mows the grass well and it even cuts the grass when wet with dew. It leaves less clumps of cut grass on the lawn that our riding mower. The positioning is very precise and reliable. We have had no instances of it going outside the boundaries. We have 6500 meters2 of lown to cut in western Washington State and it is able to keep up with the mowing running 10 hours a day. I wish it would vary its route to and from the charging station even just by its own width each time. It follows the same route each time and is leaving wheel tracks on the routes it uses to reach the areas farthest from the charging station.
The RTK station and Robot have been functioning flawlessly thus far. The installation and configuration process were relatively straightforward. We are optimistic that future grass cutting will be equally smooth and devoid of any technical challenges.
After much research I was excited to receive and put the mower to the test for several weeks and I'm happy with my purchase. When setting up initially, I should have broken up my zones into smaller, more manageable areas.
As a retired man with mobility issues this mower has changed my life. The Luba operates as advertised and does not have any problems with the steep hill in my backyard.
I had been previously mowing with a Husqvarna 450 Automower for almost 7 years. Last year became quite frustrated with problems. I decided to give the Luba 2 5000 HX a try. It was very easy to assemble and setup. I am SUPER impressed with the mower so far. Only a few disconnects with the app but overall very impressed. Still trying to tweak the cutting patterns. There are a few small patches it misses for some reason. The firmware and the app have already both been updated several time and each time it gets better. I have been mowing with the new Luba 2 for about 2 1/2 weeks. Things are looking GREAT, much better with the Mammotion Luba 2 than with the old Husqvarna 450. My friend also just purchased a Luba Mini with a much smaller lawn than mine.
very happy with the mower. the software can be glitchy and there is several weeks of learning curve, but I'm very happy with the end product. Wish there were a way to manually control it while away from home and also to make tweaks to areas on the app rather than fully re-mapping
Great product
Yard has looked phenomenal since the mini luba has started mowing the yard. Everything has been simple from installation to setting your yard perimeter.
While expensive, set up was a breeze even for my first automated lawnmower and Choptimus Prime has been going hard keeping up with our 1.1 acres of lawn up here in the PNW. There has only been a couple of minor hickups but they can be attributed to the maps I built that were easily fixed. Cant wait to see what future software updates bring!
Set up was very easy. Just drive it around the perimeter of the area to be mowed and done.
From opening up the package to starting the first mow was about 30 minutes including mapping out the lawn.
It's worked great so far, avoided my kids toys, and done it's magic at night so it's out of the way during the day.
Great product once set up. Wish the battery lasted longer but overall use daily!
We live on a hill, every part of our lawn is sloped, some so steeply that I let it be wild. Much of it is bumpy, patchy, and rough. Set up was easy. The first test came in outlining the boundaries of my 5 areas. "Mowna" charged up the steepest hill with no problems, over sticks and leaves. Truley TRUELY impressive. The back task area is so sketch I stood and watched her back and forth, navigating the ups and downs, sure she would get stuck at least once. Nope. Never. Literally the best thing I've bought for the yard, worth every penny.
Very pleased with the unit so far. Have had a few issues with mapping and returning it to the charging station, but nothing major. Glad I purchased this product.
I have been pleasantly surprised at how well this works. I have a large hill with a 36° grade and the Luba 2 handles it no problem
The product arrived in a well packaged box and the instructions were easy to follow. The set-up was straightforward and required only basic tools. Mapping the lawn was a breeze using a combination of manual mapping and AI mapping and the Luba Mini hasn't had a hiccup since. I have had the product for a week and has mapped and mowed 12,000 square ft of my hilly yard with no issues. I would buy this product again any time.
